Latest Lazyhook, September 2009
The Lazyhook was originally supplied with a plastic bobble termination. This was not without problems with larger sailors having to replace the bobble on a regular basis. To solve this problem we have identified a eye bolt that is used instead of the plastic bobble to form a altogether longer lasting solution. It also allows the use of up to 4mm diameter rope to provide security for the larger sailor. This system has been trialled by J. Reekie with good success. Periodic visual inspection and replacement of the rope is still required.
The Lazyhook can only be purchased in the above configuration and the eye bolts are available for sale on the website, allowing existing Lazyhook users to upgrade.
Pablo Arandia Method, July 2007
Pablo was seen with this modification whereby th adjuster rope is passed through the centre of the Lazyhook shaft and tied off through a carbon disk acting as the stopper. This is a neat arrangement albeit requiring an increase in sailor arm strength/technique due to the reduction in the purchase from 2:1 to 1:1. |
